Absolutely amazing experience! Almu is warm, professional, and truly goes above and beyond. From start to finish, everything was handled with care, great communication, and genuine hospitality. She made us feel like family — highly recommend to anyone visiting Oaxaca! Can’t wait to come back.
This place is so special! The food was delicious and the people were lovely! Mariana was helpful in guiding us with what to order! But my god the space is so beautiful!! I could have spent all day hanging out and walking around. Do yourself a favor and figure out how to get here.
Fun, colorful atmosphere and a warm hospitality that makes you feel like you’re a guest in a local home. This charming restaurant set in a garden /nursery offers delicious, homey food like mole, quesadillas, and grilled meat. Unfortunately they don’t really offer vegetarian options, which is a bummer when Mexican cuisine is so easily vegetarian. However, I really appreciated that they did do their best to adapt what they had and we got the mole trilogy with grilled fresh cheese instead of meat. It was tasty, but a bit too much cheese. It would have been better if it maybe had some mushroom or veggies instead of or in addition to the cheese. We also enjoyed the guacamole starter and their amazing hot drinking chocolate. The food was all of excellent quality though not the best flavor-wise that we’ve had in the region. But the experience is enjoyable and worth the visit.
Absolutely wonderful place, full of nature! I have gone multiple times and every time there is the alebrijes fair I stop by. Food is great. Try the salsa de costilla frita o their huevos al comal. Once you are done with your meal you can walk around a buy a plant All of the plants are for sale
What a place. This is the real deal. Food of Oaxaca served so fresh and so delicious, and so well decently priced, that I was tempted to set up my tent and stay there. This place is an oasis of plants, trees, gardens and flowers in the middle of a mountain just outside of town. The menu? Handwritten on a note block. Main course mole? 160 peso. And just sensationally delicious. Camilla tea? You get the actually herb deposited in your cup. I mean, where ever have I seen that? The have a huge open kitchen where they freshly make the tortillas and all other food. Service is also on point. This was a true blessing after all the craft shoppings of Tiljacete.
We had an amazing experience at Almú! Our waitress, Laura, provided excellent service—she was friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish full of flavor and beautifully presented. Highly recommend this spot and will definitely be coming back!
The most amazing meal and atmosphere! This beat any and all meals in downtown Oaxaca! Incredible food, my hat off to the chef and all the staff working here. Authentic!!!!
Definitely one of the best places to eat in Oaxaca. Traveling here from the city just to grab a meal is totally worth it. Farm to table and wood stoves with traditional cooks, outdoors, what else can you ask for. Great service? Well, they are outstanding at that.
